I was born one mile north of this the first church I attended probably in the late 30's where my 3 brothers and 3 sisters, as well as parents and my aunts, uncles and grandpap went. Grandpap, born in 1882 died in 1966 about a mile southwest of the church on the dirt Kirkman road.
His name was Daniel Webster Enterline and he sadly got so ill from dementia that he would stand up in the middle of services and tell Merton Shingledecker that he would go to hell if he didn't stop smoking so they had to ask him not to come back. He was probably one of the few that attended service every Sunday but most of our family has been affected this awful deterioration.
Before the mid 1940's we used to have church in the Union Grange #609 which was between where this church is now and our home and this church was a school where my older sister and brother attended. The church is actually directly on route 28 not where it now is shown on the map.
The Shingledeckers were a wonderful Christian family who surely were embarrased by grandpaps spouting off and if they ever see this I appollagize for grandpap's awful outburst. I know how it feels since my dad did the same to me and my brother when he was in his eighties; it's one of the prices we pay for living to be so old but I'm still glad I'm still here.Added May 11, 2017 by A Google User
